:: though I'm already running late,

my aim for this half of the year

is to post 1 photo a week

of each of my girls ::

the first days as five

from our first days as a family of 5:

amazement at and many cuddles for baby sister

little sister's 2nd birthday

things are going well here, mostly back to normal

though i think it will take a bit of time

for me to figure out how to ensure the older sisters

don't feel ignored too often.

but that's all part of the learning!

this week

snuggles while watching peppa pig

dancing to daddy's final hurrah on the (my) double bass

making bottle after bottle of cordial with our lemons

enjoying blooms from our garden

taking the dolls for a walk in their prams

outdoor picture-painting for our baby's room

tending the vegie patch

we hope your easter was filled with love and joy!

growing and cooking

this past week or so,

i have managed to get up off the couch

(turns out i was iron deficient - all fixed now!)

and we've spent some time together

in the kitchen.

the girls love helping - cracking eggs is their favourite -

and big sister has an excellent shell-free cracking record.

little sister, on the other hand, 

prefers to crush, rather than crack.

  but she's getting there!

 pastry cutting and rolling was loved by the girls as well,

though we could not really share those pinwheels,

 since they received so much hands-on love and care...

(i'm not sure why big sister has her face in her hands,

because she was having a good time!)

the tomatoes above come from my parents' garden,

and made a mighty fine batch of tomato sauce indeed.

yesterday i planted out our new vegie garden,

my 29th birthday present,

and today i spent some time on our picnic rug,

reading in the sun,

and keeping one eye on little sister,

who likes to dig and pull out my seed markers!

baby no.3 is growing well - just 6 weeks to go...

eating and crafting

if these photos are anything to go by

it seems that our life currently 

consists of crafting and eating

(and for me, more dreaming of crafting,

while actually just sitting on the couch a lot.)

but that's how it is with this spell of hot weather,

and only 7 or 8 weeks til bub's arrival!

hopefully the cooler change that's just arrived

will allow me some evening energy

to get some sewing done before bub arrives.

cutting and pasting

little sister is in love with our glue-stick.

she sobs when i take it away,

and never gets out of her chair while it's in her hand.

her focus makes the sticky tablecloth worthwhile!

big sister is in love with cutting.

her latest challenge is to follow a particular line,

and she too will happily snip away for ages.

she's almost ready to graduate to some sharper blades!

and i am in love with the rainy weather!

at the pub

last night, we dined at the pub

in celebration of our seventh wedding anniversary.

we were blessed with a thoroughly relaxing time,

sitting in the beer garden, 

watching the sky become more ominous,

but managing to escape the rain. 

it was a special time as a family of four -

i wonder how many more of these there will be,

before four become five?

 

the light of the world

ah, little blog.

thank you for your patience 

while i've been preoccupied with other things

(and waiting for our internet to be connected!)

 i may soon go back and fill in the gap

between mid-december and now,

but today - here is a little peek at our first lenten activity:
