treasures of the street...

this week is hard-rubbish collection in our area, so the streets are littered with broken furniture, discarded pieces of wood and plastic, etc (but nothing metal - that gets picked up by non-council metal collectors very quickly!)

at the beginning of the week, i was in our kitchen when i noticed a car pull up at the front of our place. its occupants got out and began to paw through our rubbish pile, and i thought to myself, in a smug kind of way, "good on me for not using hard rubbish as an excuse for acquiring more things." i was quite proud of myself.

but later that afternoon, i took missy out for a calming walk in the sunshine, and discovered something, in my neighbour's rubbish, that i could not resist... (doh!)

it's so good! there's nothing wrong with it at all - and i didn't even realise until husband pointed it out that i actually had both halves of the clam - i thought i just had one, so having two was a lovely bonus.

i think missy likes her hard rubbish present:

take care,
em
